Even though I've had some tough times, I dream about being a pilot one day. I love looking at the sky and thinking about flying high above the clouds. To me, flying means being free and leaving all the sad things behind. I like to imagine that I'm in control in the cockpit, guiding the plane far and wide, and making sure everyone gets to where they're going safely. I want to be a symbol of hope, to show people that you can do great things no matter where you come from. I dream about traveling, discovering new places, and the happiness that comes from overcoming challenges. I know that even though things have been hard, I have the power to rise high.

My story

Senoga Jovan’s life has been marked by profound loss and hardship. His father passed away when he was just a young boy, leaving him without the steady presence of a parent to guide him. Soon after, his mother was imprisoned, and Jovan was left completely alone, with no family to rely on. The days that followed were dark and lonely for him, a child grappling with the harsh reality of being without his parents. He often wandered through the streets, searching for food or simply a moment of comfort, while his peers attended school or returned home to their families. Now under our care, Jovan is slowly starting to regain a sense of stability, but the weight of his experiences remains with him. He misses his mother deeply, not fully understanding why she is gone. Despite the care and support we provide, the shadow of his past still lingers, making it hard for him to trust the world again.

Why Jovan needs our help

Jovan needs help because he has faced unimaginable loss at such a young age. The death of his father and the imprisonment of his mother left him without a stable family structure, forcing him to navigate the world alone. Without parents to provide emotional support, guidance, and basic needs like shelter, education, and care, Jovan is vulnerable to the hardships of poverty and isolation. He also needs help to heal from the emotional trauma of losing both parents. Being separated from his mother has likely caused feelings of abandonment and confusion, which can be overwhelming for a child. Furthermore, without proper care, he might struggle to access education, nutritious meals, and healthcare, all of which are essential for his growth and future prospects. Your support can help provide these necessities while offering him the emotional stability and encouragement he desperately needs to rebuild his sense of security and hope.

Jovan is supported by impact partner Serah

Our childcare provides shelter for vulnerable homeless children who have been orphaned due to natural circumstances, such as the death of one or both parents, as well as poverty-related issues that cause despair in parents, causing them to make drastic choices that leave many of these children vulnerable. Some children are rejected by their families because of minor body abnormalities and treatable medical conditions. Others are left on the streets of the capital Kampala, where they risk a lot to make a living. Because every child is precious to God. We cannot sit back and watch these children suffer alone. Still, we can do something to restore their priceless lives and give them hope for the future. As a childcare facility, we provide a home for our children after they are approved by the government agency based on the child's status or condition. He or she is initiated into our family situation, from where they find a sense of belonging. Our mother, who happens to be a widow, can take care of the child together with other siblings he or she finds in the house and together they form a family. We emphasize that our children are formed and raised in a family institute. Because this is a way in which right and appropriate standards of life are instilled. We provide them with quality education, food, health and medicine, clothing, and above all, divine principles. LUF believes that when we empower our children or our society as a whole, we provide a great platform for great African leaders who will one day empower the next generation of Africa and the entire world as a whole.
